Dear Parents and Carers,

As we draw the curtains on another remarkable year at St Mary's, I find myself filled with immense pride and gratitude. The past twelve months have been a testament to the incredible spirit of our school community, brimming with learning, laughter, and countless achievements.

Our children have once again surpassed expectations, demonstrating exceptional progress and attainment across all areas of their academic pursuits. However, their successes extend far beyond the classroom walls. We've witnessed outstanding performances in sports and the creative arts, culminating in our spectacular whole school production of The Wizard of Oz. What a marvellous way to conclude our year! Also, are the numerous charity events planned and organised by the pupils and the PTA, as well as the money and awareness raised for our link school in Malawi.

Our rich and diverse curriculum has been further enhanced this year by a plethora of extracurricular events and visitors, creating a tapestry of unforgettable experiences and cherished memories. From the excitement of Heritage Week to the joy of our bonfire celebrations, from the heart-warming nativity performance to the bustling Christmas Fair, each event has added a unique thread to the fabric of our school year.

None of these incredible experiences would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and hard work of my exceptional team of colleagues. Their commitment to our school, and more importantly, to your children's progress, attainment, wellbeing, and happiness, is truly commendable. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude for their tireless efforts. To Team St Mary's, I say a heartfelt thank you!

As with every year, we face the bittersweet task of bidding farewell to valued members of our school family. Mrs Kingsnorth, who has been an integral part of our team for over two years, is moving on to another GST school. We wish her the very best in her new role and thank her sincerely for her significant contributions to St Mary's.

We also say goodbye to Mrs Wright, who leaves us after an incredible sixteen years as both a class teacher and sports teacher. Her impact on our school community has been profound, inspiring and motivating not just our pupils, but also her colleagues and the wider village community. We are immensely grateful for everything she has done and she will be greatly missed.

To our fantastic PTA and all the parents who have volunteered their time and energy throughout the year, please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated. Your support makes an enormous difference to our school community, enriching the experiences we can offer our children.

Finally, I extend my heartfelt thanks to you, our parents. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating your wonderful children. Your continued support and encouragement of the school and staff mean the world to us.

As we look forward to the summer break, I hope you all have a chance to rest, recharge, and create lasting memories with your families. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you back on Wednesday 4th September for another exciting year of learning and growth at St Mary's.

Have a fabulous summer, everyone!

Warm regards,
Mrs Buckley, Headteacher
